Green Day 2011 was a great success with a lot of different cross curricular projects happening!

Students and staff also wore green clothes to school and gave money to charity (WWF) so that the school could adopt some endangered animals. We raised an amazing £270.74! The animals to adopt were picked by The Eco Squad they chose the Amur Leopard (top priority) with less than 35 left in the world! We also gave money to help protect Pandas, penguins, orang-utans and polar bears. Letter updates on our adopted animals will be displayed on the A360 sustainability board. The toys are going to be used in reception classes. Lots was happening all around the school in loads of different lessons ranging from debates and research around endangered animals, completing transport surveys, building model flood proof housing for Bangladesh to adapt to climate change flooding, creating eco poetry/ rap, designing environmental t-shirts, sketching plants, planting, nature treasure hunts, litter picks and sorting rubbish. An amazing effort, well done to all the pupils and staff!
